Title:
Xining Hiking Event Promotes Exchange and Integration
News Summary:
On June 27, the second Qinghai·Qingtang “Agricultural Bank Cup” Xining International Hiking Conference opened at the Beichuan Qingtang City Health and Summer‑Resort Town in Chengbei District, Xining. About 12,000 hiking enthusiasts from home and abroad took part. The event was guided by the provincial sports bureau and hosted by the municipal government. Its goal is to use hiking as a platform for international exchange and ethnic integration, and to promote the integrated development of agriculture, sports, culture, tourism, commerce, and health industries.
The competition offered three routes: a 3‑km family path, a 5‑km fun trail, and a 10‑km health trail, linking landmarks such as the Beichuan River Wetland Park and a 2,200‑meter‑altitude health‑care center. Along the way there were 164 specialty booths, 18 performance spots, supply stations, Tibetan‑Mongolian medicine health experiences, and ecological science displays. Participants included hikers from South Korea, Mongolia, the United States, Morocco and other countries. The event helped showcase Xining as a “Summer Capital” and encouraged people‑to‑people interaction.
Reflection and Inspiration:
A large‑scale public activity like this is not only a way to stay fit; it also naturally ties together local products, intangible cultural heritage, and neighborly support. Walking together in everyday life and looking out for one another is the slow, steady work that builds trust between cities and villages and among different ethnic groups.
The teachings in the Scriptures about harmonious living remind us to start with small deeds: watching over our neighbors, conducting business with honesty, and working the fields diligently. Let communication become a habit so that our shared life grows steadier and richer.
Scripture:
“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity!” Psalm 133:1
